A day with mom or dad
Spending the day with your kids is important, It will help you grow a closer relationship filled with trust and understanding. When you teach your child that they are important to you they will see you as important as well, they will listen better and trust you more. You don't have to spoil them at amazing pizza machine for this infact you will spend less face to face time with them. Spending time alone with each of your children doesn't have to break the bank.
Kids craft recipes
Kid’s fun craft recipes some of these are new and some are from other
posts, I just wanted one location to have craft recipes, look for more recipes
to be added. Listed below you will find: Soap crayons, bubble bath, finger
paint, 2 types of slime, homemade play dough, dying your own paper, and how to
make your own paper mache pulp.
Vocabulary you don't want your child to say
Words like no, and mine are some of the worst words you can
hear from a toddler’s mouth, but what about teens? Besides the obvious, I have a no no list of
words in my home for any age.
Too many toys? What do I do with all the new stuff?
Do you have way too many toys especially now that Christmas/Hanukah is over?
Well here’s an idea. Pack toys for car trip, doctors office and church bags, switch out groups of toys seasonally that whay they never get old!
Breaking up boredom
I have found breaking up the boredom for kids can be challenging in it's own ways. There are a few ways I have done this through basic things we have around the house. Some of these items are kitchen chairs and blankets for a blanket hut, flour and salt for play dough, or a plastic grocery sack, some yarn, and a small toy (stuffed animal or car) for parachutes. Each of these items we have at home and can use some time or another.
Kids home on break. Driving you nuts? Indoor kids games!
Are your kids are home from break and you don't know what to do with them?
1st remember kids are people too. When you worked if ever and you got used to a
routine then if you had to stay home for a while, you would go kind of nuts
too. 1st day or two is fun but by the third day or so the lounging monster of boredom
takes over. Well I have some fun indoor games for that! Volleyball anyone?
To time out or not to timeout and how
Time outs are defiantly something I suggest. They are the
perfect way to discipline without having to raise your voice or spank. Just a
simple “ok timeout, no ________.” Such as when my son starting hitting other children
when he was finally old enough I would say “Ok timeout no hit.” Not yelling
just commanding. Now according to the leading authority on disipine, Boystown
parenting guidelines states, timeouts are to be giving when a child misbehaves.
Time outs are 1 minute per age and state simple one sentence explanation of why
behavior was inappropriate, previous to setting the child down for timeout.
After timeout immediate loving response to child is appropriate. ( this is not
word for word quote just summarized)
