So Simple So Delicious Key Lime Pie

Key lime pie is my Daddy’s all-time favorite dessert! I love it too. So this one is for my Dad!  P.S.  Key limes aren’t actually needed, regular limes make a great pie and this is so simple you will be surprised!

1 prebaked pie shell
4 egg yolks
1 14-oz can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon lime zest (if you don’t have that it’s ok, recipe should still work out fine)
½ cup lime juice
Optional green food coloring

Whipped cream for topping (my favorite whipped cream-1/8 cup cold heavy cream with ¼ cup powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon almond extract - whipped to stiff peaks)

Preheat oven to 350. Whip egg yolks with fork, add milk, juice, zest and food coloring. Mix until thickened. Fill pie shell. Back 15 to 20 mins or until middle is set, cool 1 hour, refrigerate 2 hours minimum before serving, top with whipped cream. As always enjoy!
