Valentine's Hand Print Card
Materials:
Card Stock or Construction Paper - red, purple, or pink
White Paper
Paint (washable or acrylic)
Makers
Glue
Instructions: Cut the card stock and the white paper to the size you want. Make sure to cut the white paper 1/4" shorter around the edges to leave a border. Pour the paint on a paper plate or pie tin. Have your child put their hand in the paint, dab it a little on a paper towel or newspaper (this ensures a better print), then have them spread their fingers and help them press their hand down onto the white paper, then have them lift straight up to ensure the print doesn't smear. Help them wash their hands to make sure paint does not get everywhere. When the paint dries write the phrase, "5 Reasons Why I Love You" around their hand print and decorate it to make it look as cute as possible.
Inside of the Card: Pour the second color of paint on a paper plate or pie tin. Have your child dip their thumb into the paint, dab off any excess paint on a paper towel or newspaper. Then have them with your help press their thumb 5 times on different spots on the iside of the card. When the paint has dried create cute animals or bugs by drawing faces and legs on the thumb prints. Draw a little dotted or dashed line going from one thumb print to another. Around each thumb print write something to why your child loves the person they're giving their card to. Example: To: Dad - Thumb print 1 - Piggy back rides, Thumb print two - playing catch, Thumb print 3 - racing on the wii....
