So how do you take a timeout for yourself? Lots of ways, start planning a girls night out once a month, I know you’re tired and don’t feel like removing the layer of spit up and putting on makeup but it is important to get dressed up once and a while without the family and remember what it was like to remove the label, you know, the I’m a mom label, a wife label, I do blank work for a living label. Remember how much more you are then that. I’m not saying don’t be proud of those things but remember to be proud of who you are too. Whatever your label is, that isn’t what defines you alone. That’s not why your husband married you, because you worked at blank company. Remember what it is like to be the fabulous person you were before you had rug rats. Also every day you can take a mini timeout. I don’t mean plop in front of the TV. Many studies have shown this to be an ineffective way to relax. You need to go into the bathroom with a glass of something (wine for some, I do juice myself) a piece or 2 of chocolate, a candle and a hot bath. I usually read a good book that I haven’t had the time for. Every day I get 20 mins to myself. Sometimes during nap time I just pin the hair up and relax, other times when I have cleaning to do during nap time I will simply tell my family after dinner, mommy need a little me time. However you fine the time and whatever you do just find time to remember who you are and have time to actually relax!

Do you ever give yourself a timeout?
Do you take time for
yourself? Do you realize how important
it is to take care of yourself so you can take care of your family? You know
when you get on an air plane and the flight crew tells you to put your mask on
first and then help your child? Why do they say that? Because you can not help
your child if your passed out, and your child can’t help you. Same thing
applies in life. How can you help anyone else if you are over stressed, sick
and overwhelmed?
